I lost 10 kg recently. My complexion got noticeably better. A result I had failed to achieve for ten years finally landed — and it was not because of any wonder drug.
Why? I kept asking myself.
Eventually I figured it out. The credit goes to Claude.
Ever since they started burning tokens
Ever since they started burning tokens harder, my 5-hour quota fills up fast. With nothing to do during the wait, I started forcing myself to the gym. Used to be once a week was a stretch — now “waiting for quota” has become my main rest mode, three or four gym sessions a week feels normal.
Quota refills, back to work. Work until the next quota cap, back to the gym.
An accidental virtuous cycle.
Mapping out the mechanism
Three structural advantages:
- Low quota — 5 hours fills up fast, I happily go work out
- Even less during US peak hours (which are my evenings) — I happily sleep early and wake early
- Burn through it during off-peak — I forget to eat, three meals shrink to two, calorie intake drops
Since adopting Claude Code, I have lost 10 kg, gained muscle, my complexion improved, sleep got more regular — and all of it was a byproduct. I did not deliberately optimize for any of it.
Genuinely hoping they keep burning tokens
So I am genuinely rooting for Anthropic to keep burning tokens and keep capping the quota. For someone like me who would otherwise spend every waking hour at the keyboard, “forced interruptions” turn out to be a health miracle.
If you wanted to write more code without exercising, this story might land sadly for you.
